Famed wrestler “Macho Man” Randy Savage died following a car accident in Tampa, Florida Friday after suffering a heart attack behind the wheel. He was 58.
Savage lost control of his vehicle, veered across the median and collided head-on with a tree. He passed away in a nearby hospital from his injuries. His wife Lynn was in the passenger seat and survived with minor injuries.
Savage was known by wrestling fans for his raspy voice, dark sunglasses and bandana or cowboy hat and signature catch phrase “Oooh yeah!” He started wrestling for the WWF in 1985 and earned 20 championships during his career, leading him to be a favorite for many young boys who emulated his moves in the ring. Savage broke into the mainstream in the 90′s as the official spokesperson for Slim Jim, a brand he became synonymous with, using the signature catchphrase, “Snap into a Slim Jim, oooooh yeah!”
